Autumn Birthday Celebration

Gullane, Scotland

To celebrate my wife’s seventieth birthday our family rented a beautiful converted steading in Gullane, East Lothian, appointing James Chapman to provide in-house catering for the evening. James had complete freedom with his choice of dishes although he was very keen to make sure we were happy before finalising his tasting menu.

The evening began in the lounge with Prosecco and nibbles which were so interesting, different and tasty all baked and prepared by James and served by his lovely wife, Elizabeth. We then moved through to the dining area to be presented with six wonderfully flavoursome dishes which James introduced and described whilst serving. The highlight for most was the roe deer which was melt in the mouth perfection. The meal was completed with homemade truffles and caramels to accompany coffee and liquors whilst James and Elizabeth cleared the dining and preparation area leaving everything spotless.

James provided a meal of the highest professional standard with main emphasis on taste of the dishes and the quality of the ingredients. I cannot praise James highly enough and would have no hesitation in recommending for providing in-house dining specifically tailored to the individual’s requirements.
